Our story between
sea and mountains
Our connection to Northern Spain feels like it's been there forever. The charming town of San Vicente de la Barquera and its diverse surroundings truly captivate us. Our fascination with Cantabria has always drawn us back here, time and time again.
San Vicente de la Barquera is our new adopted home. It seems to fit us and our family almost perfectly. The sea and the mountains form the breathtaking landscape of Cantabria. These two contrasts create a harmony and one of the most beautiful settings in Europe for us. We share the love of the sea and especially Pat has been connected to it for years because of surfing. Nadia, on the other hand, who grew up in the South Tyrolean Dolomites, feels at home near the mountains.
The Mello Yello House –
a dream come true
We searched intensively for the right house for our dream. When it was finally in front of us, we immediately fell in love with the present Mello Yello Guesthouse. During the first viewing, a feeling of euphoria came over us. We knew straight away that we wanted to arrive here.
With love and passion, we have transformed the house into a stylish "temporary home" for you. We spent months renovating the interior of the Mello Yello Guesthouse from the scratch. Almost everything you'll find in the house was made or redesigned by us. The traditional Spanish building in its natural and varied surroundings radiates a lot of energy and peace for us. Every day we can enjoy the beautiful view of the open sea and the impressive mountains.
Our Philosophy
A trip to northern Spain means immersing yourself in a surreal world. Experience that surfing, cultural highlights and spectacular nature are not opposites, but an attractive symbiosis. Fill up your head, your soul and your heart with power. Our ambition and mission at Mello Yello is to share and pass on this multifaceted environment and its energy. Our interest in the country, its people and surf culture has found its home here. At Mello Yello we want to offer you a holiday in a family environment, create a place to arrive, feel good and guarantee you an unforgettable time. Hospitality and good humour are matters of the heart for us.

Hey there, we're Nadia, Coco, Moa, and Pat; your host family at Mello Yello Guesthouse.
We're a lively mix of South Tyrolean Dolce Vita, a cheerful Cologne native, and our radiant girls Coco & Moa. Thanks to this exotic blend, we can welcome our guests in German, English, Spanish, Italian, and even a bit of French.

Organisational talent and part-time yogi - always an open ear for the wishes of our guests - herb fairy and cleaning expert, loving mum and boss in the house

A passionate surfer and surf coach, and our full-time caretaker – always ready for a coffee or a nice glass of red wine (in the evening)! He's also a storyteller and an accidental hobby gardener.
